In the United States, the awareness of many challenges faced by Black households has increased since the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis, Minnesota police 25 May 2020. To understand better some of the struggles Black households face, Larry Cohen (director of SBI's Consumer Financial Decisions and the MacroMonitor) provides facts about Black households' demographics, finances, and financial attitudes in comparison with all other households. Overall, the contrast is stark. This mini-presentation provides a brief overview of how Black households are disadvantaged and demonstrates why they are unable to reap fully the financial benefits of their labors.
